Six Sentence Story

1. Once upon a time there lived a young innocent boy.

2. The young innocent boy lived in a spooky two story house.


3. The young innocent boy had a talent that no one else would have, that talent was that he could sense spirits around him.


4. The young innocent boy was told to go up into the attic and get something his mother needed little did he know the attic was haunted from the people who lived there before them.


5.  As he was  walking up the ladder he felt a bad spirit and he got worried that the spirit might do something bad to him.


6. As he walked up into the attic he saw a tall dark shadow and it was walking towards him and…… To be continued.

Advertisements

WALT: We are learning  about the language features used in advertising. We are also learning about the different forms media may take.


Task Description: This week our focus was on learning different language features. So we started of with seeing what different language features are in advertising. This is the work that I did, it shows the different advertisements that Mrs Ilaoa set out with her literacy room to work out. This slide shows my work the I have completed from this week.

Going to Rainbow Ends

As I sit under the tree I was watching people walk by. I found a book and opened the book, I started to read it. I kept on reading and it was very emotional. While I was reading tears kept running down my face. I stopped for a second and realized that this book was about a very sad someone that was hurting inside. While I was reading the book came to a end………. To be continued

The Haunted House On Blood Hill

It was time. Time to the explore the haunted house on top of Blood hill. I've been told many scary story about this haunted house, but I never believed any of it. Until… I had enough. So then me and my friend Chastyit decided to plan a day to visit the so called ' Headless Horseman House' on top of Blood Hill.

Once we got to the Horseman’s House we already had felt the feel that everybody else had. A sad and angry feeling. It also felt like it didn’t want us to investigate the house.

How to be a Leader

To my family they think that education is that key to a good future. If you want to know how you can get an good education then read the following paragraphs. 

    
Being a good learner means making it to school everyday and also it means to attending school can make you get prizes in the end of the year  when its prize giving. Therefore being present to school helps you with life.               



Another idea is that being organized is being prepared for what you have in your classes throughout the day. To be organized, make sure to be prepared for college if your in primary meaning have a pencil or other stationary to help you with your learning.



Being a good learner means you have to behave by not talking to other students. It also means to be ready to listen and sitting up straight. For example you can in the morning when the bell rings, you go to class and you sit up straight in your desk ready for learning.             


This is my explanation on how to be a good learner. I hope you've learnt something from these three ideas in my explanation. Make sure to always learn so you can be a good learner.

Re-writing the Legend of Maui

Long long ago there was a boy called Maui and he was walking around in the forest. Then some men just appeared from no where and they asked Maui "Do you want powers?" and he replied "Yes". Then the men started saying weird things and a weird feeling came to Maui. 

When he went home he found a great big hook and he picked it up. The moment he touched the hook he was high up in the air. Then he touched it again and he fell flat on the ground. He thought he was going to tell his siblings about his new hook.

He heard his siblings moaning about how fast the days were going because the sun was running fast across the world. Maui decided to go to the east and go with his brothers. The next day he got his things prepared. 

It was still dark in the morning when he transformed into an eagle and his brother got on his back and they took off to the east. When they got there they found some flax on the ground and they decided to make a net out of it and then Maui used his magical hook to make the net stronger. 

When the sun came out they waited until the sun was in the right position and then they put the net over the sun. They got the sun then he said to the sun "You have to walk around the earth because people don't have enough time to do things so you have to walk or else I will come back and hurt you with my hook."  The sun agreed to walk instead of run around the earth and then they let the sun go. 

Later on that day they went back home and everyone had time to do what they wanted and everyone lived happily ever after.

Massive Volcano Erupts In Mexico

Today the Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico has erupted, throwing ash, water and gas into the air. The eruption has made an ash cloud that reaches 2,000 metres above the volcano's crate. That’s more than five times the height of the Empire State Building in New York!. A huge crater is created on top of the volcano after the first eruption blows the top of it off.  People living nearby have been given advice about how to protect themselves from the ash.  There are more than 3,000 volcanoes in Mexico, but only 14 are considered to be active.

When you get bitten by a pests

WALT to explain what happens before and after you are bitten by an insect.

I heard a buzzing like a mosquito. It zoomed across my face as if it was a flash of lightning. I tried not to move so it wouldn’t bite me. Then it went around me a lot of times like a roller coaster. I started to worry because it would bite me if it landed on me.

Firstly when you get bitten you start to itch a little and you might think that the bite is infected like as if it was carrying the zika virus or other viruses. It is painful to get bitten by an insect. Did you know why they bite you? They bite you because we humans are warm blooded and they like warm blood.

Secondly mosquitoes have six legs so three legs on each side. Mosquitoes have a very skinny body. Skinny like your our small finger. They are so small you can’t even see them. Mosquitoes have a small body but a large face.

Thirdly how to prevent pest from coming to your house? Don’t leave the doors open for too long especially at night because mosquitoes and other insects can come into your house.

Keep doing it and you’ll have a self and healthy home!
